Spelling test will be on Friday, December 6th this week.  Spelling City assignments are due by Sunday 12/8/19

ELA:  English Language Arts:

• Grammar--Verb Tenses
• Reading--Ask and Answer Questions in Fiction text
• Vocabulary-- glee, snatch, dangle, hesitate, greedy.  We will cover 5 vocabulary words in class. WOW Word:  astronomer. The WOW words are focusing on prefixes and suffixes.  
• Writing-- Work on developing a piece of writing focusing on personal narratives.  

Math:

• We have started our enVision Math program.  It is common for the homework to take a little longer in the beginning as students get used to the program, flow and the style of questioning. Homework will be on every Tuesday and Thursday and is due the following day for 5 points in the gradebook.  Homework is a very important part of learning and retaining all that they are learning in class.  
• Tuesday, December 3rd:  Lesson 3.7  Associative Property- Multiplying with 3 factors.  * Homework due Wednesday 12/4/19.
• Thursday, December 5th:  Review of Topic 3 with study guide. * Homework is to review study guide and get parent signature for 5 extra credit points. Due Friday 12/6/19.
• Friday, December 6th:  Topic 3 Assessment

Science:

• Animals through Time:  Why do dogs wag their tails? 

• Why are some babies born as twins?

Technology: 

• Students will become familiar with the different websites we will use in class and how to find the links on our class blog page.  
• Students will work on typing skills.

Snack:

• We will stop each morning at 10:00 am to have a snack since our lunch is so late in the afternoon (12:38 pm) Please help your 3rd grader remember to grab a snack so they will be able to continue their focus.  

Homework:

• Reading Homework (This is for a grade):
• I sending home the December Reading calendar on Monday 12/2/19
• **November Reading Calendar due now. Parent signature required. If you have misplaced the calendar a note with how many minutes your child read with your signature or an email from you will work.
• Math Homework:  (This is for a grade)

• Specials: 
• Music and PE will be meeting more than once a week.  The schedule is to the right, on our class blog page.  Please encourage your child to dress in appropriate clothing and shoes for the PE days. 

Dates to Remember:

• Wednesday, December 4th:  Field trip to Jewett Auditorium to enjoy a performance of the Nutcracker.
• Class Christmas party on Wednesday, December 18th, from  1:30 pm to 2:45 pm.  An email to sign up will be sent separately.
• Christmas Break will be from December 21st through January 5th, 2020.
