Spelling Test Thursday, February 11th.

Language:  Learning about prefixes, suffixes and pronouns.

Words of the day this week:  stubborn, struggle, nonsense and conduct.

CCSS Math Continuing this week with fractions and building and writing fractions greater than one whole unit using fractions. Math4Today  Multiplication and Division problems, story problems using multiplication and division, three digit subtraction, solving a problem with three factors in multiplication problem, and multiplying with groups of tens.

Homework:  Students will have Math homework on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday this week.  It is so important for students to work on their homework and bring it with them the next day as we use it as a learning tool and go over it as a class the next day and it does not benefit students who have not attempted the work on their own first.  I appreciate the time you give to helping your child and the rest of the class be prepared for learning the next day!
Nightly reading and recording minutes read on February Calendar is also important homework as well as practicing spelling words. January calendar due by Tuesday, Feb. 2nd.

**New to homework** Practicing multiplication facts using flashcards we made in class. (multiples of 1's through 12's) Starting timed tests in class. Very important to practice facts throughout the week.

  • No homework tonight because we were doing an assessment and were not able to finish the math lesson enough.  
  • Scholastic Book Club flyers were sent home today and book orders are due by Tuesday, January 12th.  You can order anytime from now until January 12th online. There is a quick link on the sidebar of this blog or you can send the order with cash or check to school in your child's red home folder.
