    •  Homework-20 minutes minimum per evening.  Put minutes on reading calendar which will be due the first week of October.  Reading homework requirement is 400 minutes per month for 100% in grade book.  Starting with the October reading calendar, students who read at least 400 minutes for the month and turn it in the first week of November will receive a free personal pizza coupon for Pizza Hut in addition to their grade.
    • January Reading calendars are late.  Please send immediately if your child has not turned it in.  I accept the calendar, a parent note or email.  *400 minutes for the month earns 100%.  
    • February Reading Calendars are due Monday, March 4th.

  • Tuesday, February 26th:  Fox in Socks Day-- wear crazy socks.
  • Wednesday, February 27th: Green Eggs and Ham Day-- wear green. 
  • Thursday, February 28th:  "Read My Shirt Day"--wear a shirt with school appropriate messages and writing that others can read.
  • Friday, March 1st:  "Cozy Up With a Good Book Day"--wear pajamas and bring a favorite book or two

Snow Day Information:
  • In the event that school is closed for snow days exceeding 2 days, students will need to complete 4 hours to count the day as a school day.  I am sending home a snow day packet with work outlined for the four hours that would need to be separated from the packet and returned to school once school resumes.  I will send an electronic copy as well as a paper copy and will email parents to let them know when those days of school work would need to be completed.  Please let me know if you have any questions.  If we have only 1 or 2 snow days, no work from the packet would be required.  I will always email when work would be needed.

  • Students will need to make a Valentine container to bring to school on Thursday, February 14th (please do not send in sooner).  
  • Please make sure your child's name is visible on the container so students passing out cards can see it.  
  • I will send a list of student names in an email. 
  • We will pass out valentines, students can go through their containers and enjoy any treats while watching a short Charlie Brown Valentine movie.  We are not having a formal party.
  • If you would like to send in treats that is fine. We would prefer healthy treats as they will most likely have plenty of candy treats from friends.
