This week in third grade!  December 14th through 18th, 2015

• We will not start a new spelling list this week.  
• Math 4 Today test on Thursday.
• Grammar practice and vocabulary.

Decorating Santa's new suit! 

Thank you for sending in all kinds of wonderful materials for the kids to decorate a new suit for Santa!!

Santa's suit has accidentally shruck in the dryer and we are helping Mrs. Clause get a new suit put together for Santa and we will be working on writing about our design and trying to persuade Mrs. Claus to choose one of our designs!

Homework:  We will have math homework on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.  If your child hasn't turned in their reading calendar for November they need to do so by Friday. They will lose 20 points out of the 200 for being 2 weeks late but it is better than a zero.

Music performance on Thursday:

• Our elementary music program is this Thursday the 17th from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the Nampa First Church of the Nazarene located at 601 16^th Ave. S.Nampa.
• Students needed a battery operated candle to use for one of the songs.  If you have not been able to get one let me know.  Also they have lots of them at the Dollar Tree by the Caldwell Walmart. Mrs. Ellis needs to have everyone bring their candle by Tuesday. 
• Students can wear dressy clothes for the performance and also arrive at least by 5:45 pm to get set up.  
• Any other questions 

Calendar:

• Tuesday: Pizza money due to order pizza for Wednesday.  $1 for cheese or pepperoni.
• Thursday the 17:  UGLY Sweater Day!  Rock your most creative, festive, cute or ugly sweater to celebrate the holiday season!
• Thursday the 17th 6:00 pm- Elementary Christmas Music Program
• Friday the 18th:  Star Wars Dress Up Day!  
• Friday the 18th:  Class Christmas Party from 12:30 pm to 2:00 pm.
• Christmas break the December 19th through January 3rd.  
• December Reading Calendars due by January 5th.

Spelling Test Thursday, December 10th

Homework:  Students will have Math homework on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday this week.  It is so important for students to work on their homework and bring it with them the next day as we use it as a learning tool and go over it as a class the next day and it does not benefit students who have not attempted the work on their own first.  I appreciate the time you give to helping your child and the rest of the class be prepared for learning the next day!
Nightly reading and recording minutes read on December Calendar is also important homework as well as practicing spelling words.
