- Spelling Test will be this Friday, December 8th.
Reading and Language Arts:
- Continuing our new chapter book, Mouse and the Motorcycle.
- Grammar Rule 11: Possessive pronouns tell who or what owns something. They replace possessive nouns. For example: our home, her brother, my best friend, yours, mine, theirs.
- Reading skill focus: inference, prediction, details and conclusions.
Math:
- Lesson 3: Multiply and divide with familiar facts using a letter to represent the unknown. For example: 21 ÷ 3 = n, n = 7 or n x 7 = 21. n = 3.
- Homework on Monday night.
- Lesson 4: Count by units of 6 to multiply and divide using number bonds to decompose. For example: 24 + 6 = 20 + 10 = 30.

Science:
- Day, Night and Earth's Rotations.
- Why does the sun rise and set?

Social Studies:
- Map skills using the compass rose and longitude and latitude lines.
Homework:
- November Reading Calendar due Friday, December 1st. Remember that 400 minutes a month or more receives full credit (100%) in the grade book.
- Math homework on Monday night (lesson 3) and Wednesday night (lesson 4).
- Practice Spelling words from List #6 Silent E--lists will be sent home on Monday, November 27th and the test will be in two weeks on Friday, December 8th. There is also a list at the top of this blog post.
- We will be doing IXL in class so students will not be assigned IXL for homework but I encourage students to do one to two activities in Math and Language Arts on the days we do not have paper homework to continue practicing their important third grade skills.
****Please remind your child to bring a snack to have at our morning break (10:30 am) since they don't eat lunch until 1:00 pm.
