  • Spelling Test will be Wednesday, December 20th
Reading and Language Arts:
  • We finished watching our movie, Mouse and the Motorcycle and discussed similarities and differences,
  • Most students finished their Mouse and the Motorcycle unit packets.
  • Reading skill focus:  inference, prediction, details and conclusions.
  • Holiday themed reading activities.
Math:
  • We will not introduce any more new math until the Christmas break is over.
  • Holiday themed math activities.
  • IXL practice over the break makes a world of difference if you have time to squeeze it in.
Interim Testing:
We will be doing some testing this week called the Interim Assessment which is like the spring ISAT third graders will take.  This would be a practice and would be helpful for the kids to see what logging in is like and what the test looks like.  This information will help us see how the students are doing academically and will provide some insight on what we need to focus more time on.  If students want to bring snack during this test that is fine as long as it is not something that can spill or needs to be warmed up as we do not have a microwave.

***We have a need for headphones or ear buds.  Please talk with your child about their headphones as some are missing and some don't work any more.  We need them for testing and for chrome book times.  Your child knows if they have headphones and if they do indeed still work currently.  Thank you!
Homework:
  • November Reading Calendar were due Friday, December 1st.  Remember that 400 minutes a month or more receives full credit (100%) in the grade book

  • Lesson 5:  Count by units of 7 to multiply and divide using number bonds to decompose.  For example:  We can figure out the product of 7 x 6 by decomposing one of the sets of 7 into 7 x 5 + 7  by solving
                                    35 + 7 = adding 35 + 5 = 40 + 2 = 42
                                                                      ∕
