The test for Spelling List #3 will be this Wednesday, October 5th.

Math:

• Math 4 Today- Week 6 working on skip counting using a number pattern. For example-14,21,28,____, 42, ______.  Rounding numbers to nearest 10 and 100, Story problems using 2 steps: addition and subtraction,Addition and subtraction problems with 3 digit numbers using borrowing and carrying.
• Multiplication within 100 and Division with in 100.  
• Working on Flashcards for multiplication facts.

Language:

• Grammar Rule 5:  Singular and plural nouns.  For example:  puppy and puppies (drop the y and add ies to make it plural).
• Proper Nouns and common nouns- identifying them in sentences.

Reading:

• We finished Charlotte's Web and will be putting our projects together and enjoying the cartoon movie version to compare the book and the movie.
• We are starting our school-wide book celebration of The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe. We will work on vocabulary and comprehension as we read through the book.  On October 31st, we will celebrate this book by watching the cartoon version of the movie and dressing up as any character from the book!  

**Scholastic Book Orders are on their way here.  I hope they will arrive before Fall Break.  

Homework:  This week students should try to do 30 minutes of IXL at least 3 times over this week.  No paper homework will be sent home this week.

Date to Remember:

Tuesday:  Pizza orders due for Wednesday lunch. (The senior class sells pizza every week to raise money for their class trip at the end of the year.  Students can purchase a slice of cheese or pepperoni for $1 each.  We collect the orders and money on Tuesdays and the students receive their pizza at their lunch time on Wednesday.  Students cannot purchase pizza on Wednesday.

No swimming on Friday, October 7th or October 14th 

Parent Teacher Conferences will be 19th through the 21st after school.  I will send a sign up email with times available for parents to sign up.  I look forward to getting a chance to sit down with each of you and talk about your wonderful children and what they are working on and their learning goals for this year.

Reminder:  Please remind your child to bring a snack each day, especially those eating hot lunch as we eat very late in our day at 12:40 pm.  We stop each day at 10:20 am for a snack to keep ourselves fueled up for learning!
