Reading: We are enjoying our class book, The Mouse and The Motorcycle. We are looking up vocabulary from the book in the dictionaries. We will finish it this week and watch the movie and do a comparison. We are working on reading a passage and answering questions in varying levels of difficulty from direct answers to inferring what the information is telling us.
Language Arts: Correcting grammar mistakes in daily language. Practicing spelling words
Mountain Language-variety of grammar and language practice. Working on parts of a sentence and identifying the subject and predicate of sentences.

Spelling List #4 is for two weeks. The test will be on Friday, November 20th.
Math: Math4Today: Practicing rounding to nearest 10's and 100's, solving problems with three digit numbers using borrowing and carrying, story problems using addition and subtraction to find the missing piece, using graphs to find information using addition and subtraction. Common Core Math: Multiplying and dividing using multiples of 6's and 7's and breaking them down in two numbers that will easily equal 10 (decomposing--for example: a 7 has addends of 1+6, 2+5, 3+4, 4+3, 5+2 and 6+1). Look for the problem set paper to help explain what we are working on or email me with any questions and I will get back to you as soon as I see your email.
Homework: Students will have Math homework on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday this week. It is so important for students to work on their homework and bring it with them the next day as we use it as a learning tool and go over it as a class the next day and it does not benefit students who have not attempted the work on their own first. I appreciate the time you give to helping your child and the rest of the class be prepared for learning the next day!
Nightly reading and recording on November Calendar is also so important homework as well as practicing spelling words.
